Our influence by Galileo began in 1609, when Galileo became aware of the invention of the telescope.

At that time only a small number of telescopes had been made. It is believed that Galileo is the first to have scientifically tested the notion that what one saw through the telescope was truly what was happening at the great distances involved.

 

We have adopted Galileo as our Patron because of our belief that performance-based programs perform the same kind of function; making sure that what appears to be going on is actually what is going on.
