Training

We fundamentally believe that people learn better by doing rather than by reading or being shown something once. As a result, our training programs provide not only conceptual grounding but practice in how job tasks can be completed well.

Whether the delivery mechanism is instructor-led, instructor-led over the Internet, self-paced, or a combination of these, we focus relentlessly on what the job performance needs to be.  Thus, you will see a large "hands-on" component in all our designs.

Services

Would you you feel most secure if the other drivers on the road had passed a) a multiple-choice test, b) an on-the-street driving test, or c) both?

This admittedly over-the-top question is designed for you to think about your own personal safety.  But how does it apply? Perhaps your organization doesn't deal in life or death situations. Even if not, where do you draw the line on how important it is that your Customers, Partners, and Employees can actually do their job?

Sure, your Customers are intelligent, your Partners are clever, and you hire smart people. Do you actively select each of them based on their ability to learn quickly? Or do you expect that, like most people, it will take some time and some training before they can be fully productive? Are you looking for an integrated training and assessment program that will minimize their time-to-competance?

That's what we do, and have done for various organizations.  If you would like to know more, feel free to contact us.

Assessment and Certification

Our emphasis on performance-based evaluation sets us apart from many other companies that create learning solutions. Even if an assessment is as simple as adding a checklist for Instructors to complete for each lab student, with our solutions you know students have performed.

This carries over into the work we have done to make performance-based testing and certification more prevalent in the world. For example, we were one of the founding members of the Performance Testing Council.

Performance Support

Many people have this Aristotlean idea that "To know the Good is to do the Good." In our experience, people don't always do the Good because unless they have practiced the Good, it can be hard to remember.

This is where the field of performance support comes in. Whether it takes the form of job aids, "cheat sheets," small single-purpose apps, just-in-time tutorials, or simply clear, job-focused documentation, we work with your subject matter experts to make it easier for your less-expert employees to succeed.
